Bridgestone Corporation was founded in 1931 by Shojiro Ishibashi to manufacture tires. In 1938, Bridgestone began to apply our knowledge of rubber technology to diversified (non-tire) products including industrial rubber and chemical products. Today, the Bridgestone Group has grown to become the world’s largest tire and rubber company. Bridgestone has over 180 manufacturing facilities in 25 countries (data correct as at 1 September 2013) and the diversified products are sold around world. Throughout every phase of operations, a strict quality control program helps to ensure the superior quality of Bridgestone products.
